The 5th Japan-Korea Joint Symposium
on Imaging Materials and Technologies

1. Introduction
     Following the preliminary symposium in 1999 (Osaka), Japan-Korea Joint Symposia on Imaging Materials and Technologies were held in 2000 (Osaka), 2001 (Kyoungju), 2002 (Yokohama), 2003 (Busan), sponsored by the Imaging Society of Japan (ISJ) and Korean Society for Imaging Science and Technology (KIS&T).

     ISJ and KIS&T will together hold the 5th Japan-Korea Joint Symposium in Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan on November 25, 26 and 27, 2004. We believe this will be a great occasion for scientists, researchers and engineers from both countries to present the latest developments and achievements in imaging materials and technologies, and to further mutual understanding and cooperation in the field. If you are working on imaging materials and technologies, please join us to present advances in your research work and to discuss your latest results.

3. Symposium Schedule
    November25(Thu):Paper presentation
 26(Fri):Paper presentation and/or joining 'Japan Hardcopy 2004 Fall Meeting', the annual conference of the Imaging Society of Japan
 27(Sat):One day tour to several temples in Kyoto

5. Contributed Papers: An invitation to authors
    
1) Abstract submission
     Abstract of 100 - 200 words

2) Deadline of abstract submission
     October 1st, 2004

3) Notification of paper acceptance
     Notification of acceptance for presentation will be sent out by October 10th, 2004.

4) Deadline for manuscript submission for proceedings
     Complete papers (within 4 pages) for the symposium proceedings must be submitted by October 31st, 2004.

Detailed instructions for the proceedings papers will be sent upon acceptance.

6. Registration fees
     10,000 yenfor 5th Japan-Korea Joint Symposium
     2,000 yenfor Japan Hardcopy 2004 (for attendees from Korea)


7. Hotel Information
     Tentatively, twenty single rooms are reserved at Toyoko Inn Kyoto Gojo Karasuma; single room, 6,510 yen/night

Five minutes by subway or a twenty-minute walk to the symposium site
